El Jadida!        ⵎⴰⵣⵉⵗⴻⵏ!       !مازيغن 

We left Casablanca with Bob and Abdou and drove to El Jadida, about an hour and a half away. We checked into Hotel L’Iglesia, a reconverted church and former US consulate in the old Portuguese city. Kids playing soccer, cats, big stone walls.

We walked to dinner in the new city, where we had vegetable salads, rafika (a sort of Moroccan crepe), tagine with prunes and beef, and fresh-made juices.

Everyone is tired but in good spirits, and we’re looking forward to Essaouira tomorrow!
