A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Bob has guided cycling trips in Europe, taught high school and college French, and interpreted for sports events and conferences in France and the United States. Bob is also a landscape painter, licensed sailboat captain, EMT, and lifeguard. Passionate about studying and teaching languages, Bob went on to further his translation studies after receiving his master’s in French. He currently directs Putney Student Travel programs in France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and Rwanda, and has led Putney programs in France and Morocco. He speaks French, Spanish and Italian, and is now studying Moroccan Arabic.
